The song is "Boa Noite Solidão," set to the traditional sextilhas of Fado Carlos da Maia — words of his own, with Jorge Fernando credited here as poet as well as singer, and music by Carlos da Maia.
Ângelo Freire takes guitarra portuguesa for the night — the series' own artistic director, back in front of the camera as well as behind it.
João Domingos takes guitarra de fado alongside him, the two instruments carrying "Boa Noite Solidão" through the room.
