O Forcado is a working casa de fado on Rua da Rosa, back in Bairro Alto — the same neighbourhood as Café Luso, a few streets over, fado and dinner served together every night of the week.
Florêncio Carvalho is Capítulo IV's guest singer — four sessions in, four rooms, four voices, and still counting.
The song is "Pergunta a quem quiseres" — the poem by Mário Rainho, the music by Joaquim Campos.
The melody is Fado Alexandrino, one of fado's other named traditional tunes — its name borrowed from the alexandrine, the twelve-syllable verse line the words are built on.
Daniel Freire plays guitarra portuguesa tonight — a rising name on the instrument in his own right, and, as it happens, Ângelo Freire's nephew.
