A Muralha Tasca Típica sits near the Fado Museum in Alfama — first and foremost a neighbourhood tasca, its walls reputedly built into an old stretch of the city's defences, with fado nights folded into its dinner service rather than the other way around.
Julieta Estrela is Capítulo III's guest singer — the project's third session, its third voice, its third room.
The song is "Horas da Vida" — the poem by Manuel de Andrade and Daniel Gouveia, set to a melody older than either of them.
That melody is "Fado das Horas," a traditional fado tune associated above all with Maria Teresa de Noronha — an aristocrat who sang fado on the radio for over two decades, from 1938, and never once in a commercial fado house.
New words set to an old, named melody is how much of fado works — the tune belongs to no one song in particular, and a fadista's skill is often judged by what they do inside a shape everyone in the room already recognises.
Ângelo Freire on guitarra portuguesa and João Domingos on guitarra acústica are back behind another singer — the same pairing from Capítulo II, now underneath Julieta instead of Nuno.
Tiago Correia hosts every chapter of this project. Three sessions in, the constants are starting to show: two guitars, one host, a different room and a different voice each time.
Recorded on the 11th of January 2026, in a room built for dinner first — the fado arriving, as it often does in Alfama, somewhere between the courses.
